Testimonials
We were delighted with the craftsmanship, attention to detail and value of the service and work we received from you and and your colleagues. The quote was accurate and you held to it, and the finished stonework looks lovely as well as being a secure investment for the future resilience of the porch and roof areas. We shall certainly be looking to you in future years for further projects. Not only was the crafstmanship and costing very good, we found your team to be pleasant, polite, clean and tidy and always alert to issues affecting the congregation and willing to adapt accordingly.
We hired Geraint to undertake a delicate Bath stone repair job as part of an extensive English Heritage external refurb. We required the job to be turned around quickly. He promptly attended site to measure up and take profiles of the decorative stone work we needed to match in and repair. Later that day I had a price which was approved. Due to his connections he managed to get the supplier to deliver and cut the stone in double quick time which was then worked quickly in his work shop. Lastly he attended the site and fitted all the stone work which slotted in perfectly and once painted you genuinely wouldn’t know the difference. All in all, top service, true professional at what he does and he will be first person I call if/when I need stone work done again in the future.
In the Summer of 2014, Geraint Davies made a beautiful headstone for the grave of my husband David Bowles.
He carved a perfect low-relief version of the Green Man head that was David’s signature piece, and below that, he cut the lettering showing his name, dates, and a blessing, all in mellow York Stone.
The lettering is delicate and fine, giving the Green Man Roundel a prominent position. My family and I are very pleased with, and impressed by the quality of Geraint’s work, including the dedication he put into faithfully reproducing the carved image, and the way he involved us at every stage of the process.
I recommend Geraint Davies as Artist, Sculptor, Stone Cutter, Calligrapher and Mason, as his skills encompass all of these forms.
His level of commitment and devotion to excellence, are rare and wonderful qualities, along with his ability to relate to clients needs with sensitivity and intelligence, all contribute to the high quality of his work.
Geraint Davies was commissioned to design and carve a roundel to fill a vacant place above the main entrance porch to Saint James’s Church, Spanish Place. As a listed building of some merit and one of particular interest in the Catholic history of London this was a sensitive task which Geraint executed with great patience and skill. I was impressed by the amount of time and care taken in preparing both the plans and the material for what has turned out to be a splendid addition to the visual impact of the church. Now that it is lit at night the roundel of the glorified Christ attracts much interest and is becoming a noteworthy (and sympathetic) part of the Marylebone architectural scene.
Geraint is a fantastic craftsman, as well as being a real gent and true to his word. We were delighted with the work he did for us – and would recommend him to anyone.
